Congratulations to Kendall Hutto and David Shaw of Mississippi State University for the publishing of their work on using hyperspectral imagery to identify turfgrass stresses. These stress maps could enable more efficient management of large turfgrass fields. This work was done for Stennis Space Center and the article appeared in the March 2008 edition of Tech Briefs.

NASA Selects 38 Partnerships to Advance Key Technologies
NASA SELECTS 120 SMALL BUSINESS INNOVATION RESEARCH PROJECTS

NASA has selected 120 proposals for negotiation of Phase 2 contract awards in the Small Business Innovation Research program, known as SBIR. The selected projects have a total value of approximately $72 million. NASA will award the contracts to 102 small high technology firms in 27 states.
NASA's Innovative Partnerships Program - with offices at NASA Headquarters in Washington and all of the agency's field centers - collaborates with U.S. industry to develop pioneering technologies, infuse them into agency missions and transition them into commercially available products and services.

Congratulations to NVision Solutions for being listed in NASA's Top 20 new Spinoff Technologies produced over the past 5 years. This recognition was based on factors such as quality of life, economic benefit, and the value back to NASA. NVision Solutions Inc. is a geospatial information systems company. They harnessed NASA's remote-sensing satellite information to provide innovative geospatial solutions for a variety of applications, including: a crop prescription service for farmers; a disaster management networking tool for local, state, and Federal governments; and an educational service for young farmers.
